Latta High School seniors started their day early on Monday, August 10, as the Class of 2027 gathered at the LHS football stadium for Senior Sunrise.

Students arrived at 6:00 a.m. with blankets and chairs and spent time visiting with classmates while waiting for the sunrise at approximately 6:35 a.m. The event gave seniors an opportunity to gather as a class and celebrate the beginning of their final year at LHS.

Following the sunrise, students shared breakfast together and continued spending time with their classmates before beginning the school day.

Senior Sunrise is a tradition that marks the start of senior year, bringing the graduating class together for a special event early in the school year. A Senior Sunset event is often held later in the year to mark the conclusion of the graduating class's time in high school.

Monday's event was a great way for the Class of 2027 to kick off their senior year together. LHS looks forward to celebrating our seniors and their accomplishments throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
